Henry was admitted to practice in Western Australia in 1998, where he worked for three years for Freehills, before moving to Victoria in 1999, where he worked as an in-house counsel with the Victorian Environment Protection Authority. In that role he regularly appeared in the Magistrates' Courts, where he prosecuted offences under the Environment Protection Act, and in VCAT, where he defended the Authority's decisions against challenge from applicants and third party objectors. In addition, he provided strategic, policy and legal advice across all aspects of the Authority's activities, including administrative decision making, disciplinary arrangements and statutory amendments.
Between 2004 and 2007, Henry was a senior associate with Russell Kennedy and Deacons, specializing in local government, planning, environmental and water law, where he regularly appeared as advocate in VCAT and the Magistrates' Court.
Henry has completed his Masters in Public and International Law and has published in several journals, including the Environment and Planning Law Journal, the Maritime Journal of Australia and New Zealand and the Public Law Review.
Henry's practices in all aspects of local government, planning, environmental and water law, including statutory crime, administrative & governmental law matters.
