Mihal appears in criminal and quasi-criminal matters across all jurisdictions and has extensive advocacy experience in indictable and summary crime.
She regularly appears in committal hearings, appeals, pleas, bail applications and contested summary hearings and has appeared as junior counsel in the Court of Appeal (R v Abbas  VSCA 80).
Mihal accepts briefs in quasi-criminal proceedings including disciplinary tribunal matters, Confiscation Act proceedings, inquests and regulatory matters where she acts for regulatory departments and defendants. She also appears in judicial review matters in the Supreme Court of Victoria.
Prior to coming to the Bar Mihal practised as a Senior Lawyer at Emma Turnbull Lawyers where she had carriage of a range of complex criminal defence matters including homicide, terrorism, sexual offences and violence and property offences in both state and commonwealth proceedings.
Mihal appeared for clients in a broad range of offences in the Magistrates’ and County Court and instructed counsel in complex Supreme Court and County Court trials and appeals.
Mihal holds a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Melbourne and Bachelor of Arts with Honours (Political Science) from Monash University and is currently undertaking a Master of Laws at Monash University.
