Greens List congratulates list member Trevor Wraight QC who was today appointed as a Judge of the County Court of Victoria.
Since coming to the bar in 1995, Trevor had extensive experience in trial and appellate advocacy in the County Court, Supreme Court and the Court of Appeal. He also regularly appeared in the Coroners Court and in disciplinary tribunals.
Since taking silk in 2014, Trevor acted in notable matters including:
- the ‘Brett Whiteley art fraud’ trial in the Supreme Court;
- acting for leading trainers in disciplinary and criminal matters arising from the ‘greyhound live baiting’ inquiry; and
- acting on behalf of the Commonwealth in an inquest relating to a death in a detention centre.
Trevor also appeared in the Benbrika terrorist trial in the Supreme Court (2007-2008) acting on behalf of one of the principal accused.
