James practices principally in the areas of employment law and commercial law with a focus on:
- Unfair dismissals, general protections, workplace discrimination and underpayments;
- Post employment obligations including restraint of trade.
Before coming to the bar, James practiced as a lawyer in private practice and spent several years working for a large registered organisation where he gained experience in oral and written advocacy in various forums. Prior to this he worked as a judge’s associate at the County Court of Victoria, where he gained considerable experience in both the criminal and common law divisions of the court.
