Nussen welcomes briefs in all areas of commercial law including retail leases, building and construction, owners corporation, motor vehicle accidents, wills and estates, civil and family law in particular financial and property matters.


He also accepts briefs to act as mediator. Nussen has extensive experience as a mediator in diverse areas of commercial, retail leases, building and construction and family matters. Nussen has NMAS and LIV Accredited mediation specialist accreditation and is an FDRP.


Nussen qualified as a solicitor in 2012 and practised in commercial litigation and dispute resolution in Melbourne. Since 2013 he has been a volunteer lawyer at the St Kilda Legal Service. 


Nussen has a strong academic background and maintains an academic position at Victoria University College of Law and Justice. He has taught a broad range of subjects including mediation, arbitration, family law and civil procedure. Nussen has been published extensively in peer-reviewed, scholarly and professional legal journals. He was a Visiting Research Fellow at Florida International University, USA and Bar Ilan University, Israel.  


Nussen was appointed to the ADR committees of the Law Institute of Victoria (2012), Magistrates’ Court (2015) and Law Council of Australia (2020).
