Andrew conducts a dedicated practice in intellectual property law with a predominate focus branding (trade mark law, domain names and passing off). In this area alone he has acted as counsel or arbitrator in over 50 matters issued before various courts and tribunals. He has been recommended in the World Trademark Review 1000 for 2017, 2018 and 2019 and is currently ranked in the gold band.
His other areas include domain names, copyright, designs, patents, internet law, confidential information and related areas of misleading and deceptive conduct. He does not accept briefs outside these areas.
Andrew has authored a number of articles in professional journals and lectured on intellectual property. He is the author of the book Australian Trade Mark Opposition Law (www.oppositionlaw.com.au).
In the area of domain name law Andrew is also an arbitrator with ADNDRC based in Hong Kong and the Czech Arbitration Court in Prague.
He is also a member of the Intellectual Property Society of Australia and New Zealand (IPSANZ) and the Institute of Patent and Trade Mark Attorneys (IPTA). He has presented on trade mark law at a national level for IPTA.
