James practices principally in the areas of employment law and commercial law with a focus on:

• Unfair dismissals, general protections, workplace discrimination and underpayments;
• Post employment obligations including restraint of trade, copyright and confidential information;
• Consumer disputes and domestic building;
• Valuation of Land.

Before coming to the bar, James practiced as a lawyer in private practice and spent several years working for a large registered organisation where he gained experience in oral and written advocacy in various forums. Prior to this he worked as a judge’s associate at the County Court of Victoria.
