Profile

Merys is a common law barrister, practicing primarily in personal injury and insurance law.


She appears in common law trials, civil appeals, serious injury applications, and coronial inquests. Her practice includes work injuries, transport accidents, public liability, institutional abuse, intentional torts, coronial inquests and judicial review. 


Merys holds a Bachelor of Biomedical Science and a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) from Monash University.


Prior to coming to the Bar, Merys was Associate to her Honour Judge Davis of the County Court of Victoria and a solicitor at Robinson Gill Lawyers.


Merys is a former deputy chair of the Law Institute of Victoria’s Administrative Law and Human Rights Committee. She received the LIV’s Paul Baker award in recognition of her contribution to administrative law and human rights in 2019. She was a finalist for the LIV’s Rising Star Award in 2018 and 2019.
