Mark is a Nationally Accredited Mediator.

He signed the Bar Roll in 1983 and took silk in 2001.

At the Bar he appeared for the defence and the prosecution in significant criminal matters throughout Australia and in particular in a number of complex commercial criminal matters. He also advised the Commonwealth in relation to a range of National Security matters. He appeared in the Longford Royal Commission, Victorian Bushfires Royal Commission, the Inquiry into the prosecution of Dr Mohamed Haneef and the Big Day Out Coronial Inquest.

In 2009 Mark defended Australian writer Harry Nicolaides who was charged with the offence of lese majeste in the Supreme Court of Thailand.

In 2010 he was appointed to the County Court of Victoria and sat in the criminal, commercial and civil divisions of the Court until 2022.

Mark is a former Chair of Greens List and between 2012 and 2016 he was a member of the Victorian Forensic Mental Health Review Board.

He is available as a Mediator in Australia, internationally and online. He is also an accredited Tasmanian Government Farm Debt Mediator.

Mark also conducts litigation seminars for professional organisations, corporations and associations.
