Esther accepts briefs in all areas of public law and general commercial law. In her public law practice, she has a particular interest in human rights law and administrative law. She has acted for and advised in matters involving local, state and federal government. In her commercial practice, she has a focus on consumer law, competition law, corporate regulatory matters and class actions. She also accepts briefs in employment and industrial law and discrimination law.


Before coming to the Bar, Esther was a Senior Associate in the litigation team at King & Wood Mallesons. She has expertise with Royal Commissions and Inquiries, having been a core member of the Solicitor Assisting team for the Yoorrook Justice Commission. She has also acted in a number of significant consumer law and other regulatory disputes, class actions and large commercial disputes.


Esther was previously an Associate to the Hon. Justice Tate at the Victorian Court of Appeal, and to the Hon. Jennifer Coate AO at the Victorian COVID-19 Hotel Quarantine Inquiry.


Esther has also worked at the Victorian Department of Health, where she worked on the drafting and implementation of new legislation. She began her career at Arnold Bloch Leibler, where she worked on taxation disputes and related aspects of charities and trusts law.


Esther holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Juris Doctor from the University of Melbourne and a Master of Laws from the University of Cambridge.
