Profile

Kirsty practises in commercial and public law with a focus on environment, planning, and administrative matters.


Since coming to the Bar, Kirsty has acted in matters including:

  • the Warracknabeal Energy Park Inquiry under the Environment Effects Act 1978 (for the proponent, led by Peter O'Farrell KC and Emma Peppler);
  • a review proceeding under the Planning and Environment Act 1987 (application for removal of s 173 agreement, led by Rupert Watters);
  • review proceedings under the Planning and Environment Act 1987 (for the applicants, unled);
  • matters under the Land Acquisition and Compensation Act 1986 (ongoing, for both claimants and the acquiring authority);
  • review proceedings under the Environment Protection Act 2017 (declarations in relation to the waste levy, ongoing, led by Andrew Walker);
  • advising on various matters under the Planning and Environment Act 1987, Environment Protection Act 2017, and Water Act 1989; and
  • review proceedings under the Freedom of Information Act 1980.

Before coming to the Bar, Kirsty practised as a Principal Legal Adviser in State government advising on commercial, public and administrative law. 


Kirsty also practised in environment and planning at White & Case seeking approvals for major infrastructure projects, in compulsory acquisition and land assembly, and advising on environmental, native title, Aboriginal cultural heritage, and other matters.
