Profile

Lee is a common law barrister, practising in personal injuries law. She accepts briefs for plaintiffs and defendants in medical negligence, dust diseases, institutional abuse, transport accident cases, WorkCover and industrial injuries and public liability. She also appears in administrative law matters relating to the judicial review of medical panel decisions, as well as coronial inquests. In addition to her background in personal injuries litigation and health law, Lee has an interest in workplace death and OHS, and sports law.

Prior to joining the Bar, Lee was a principal lawyer at Slater and Gordon where she practised as a solicitor for 15 years. During this time, Lee specialised in the preparation of complex medical negligence claims for catastrophically injured plaintiffs. Lee acted for families against Djerriwarrah Health for the cluster of avoidable baby deaths in 2013/14 and has experience representing families of deceased persons in the Coroner’s Court.

Lee also has extensive experience in the conduct of expedited trials brought by plaintiffs with terminal illnesses, dealing with procedural issues and appearing in interlocutory applications.

In 2013, Lee was accredited by the Law Institute of Victoria as a Specialist in Personal Injury Law and has been consistently recognised by her peers through a listing in the Doyles’ Guide, including as one of only two pre-eminent practitioners in the 2024 medical negligence category.

Lee holds a Bachelor of Arts and Laws (Hons) from Monash University.

Lee is reading with Christine Boyle and her senior mentor is Michael Wilson S.C.
