Profile

Carolyn practises principally in wills and estates and related commercial disputes.

Carolyn has substantial experience in probate and estate matters, including estate disputes, contested wills, testamentary capacity, family provision claims, executor and trustee disputes, informal wills, deceased estates, and questions concerning the administration and distribution of estates. She has experience acting for individuals, companies, trustees, executors, beneficiaries and other stakeholders across a broad range of contentious and advisory matters. She approaches these matters with sensitivity and an appreciation of the often complex personal and family circumstances involved.

In her broader commercial practice, Carolyn acts and advises in relation to contractual disputes, shareholder and partnership disputes, fiduciary and equitable claims, property and business disputes, and other commercial litigation.

Carolyn is known for her practical, measured and client-focused approach, with a strong emphasis on identifying the key issues, assessing legal and commercial risk, and developing effective strategies to achieve the best available outcome. As an accredited mediator, she also brings considerable experience in facilitating the resolution of disputes and assisting parties to achieve commercially sensible and practical outcomes.

She brings substantial advocacy experience, sound commercial judgment and detailed knowledge of commercial and succession law, together with a considered and strategic approach to matters requiring careful analysis, effective dispute resolution and, where appropriate, mediation.

Carolyn was previously a solicitor at Norton Rose Fulbright; and she also served as associate to the Hon Justice Habersberger, in the Supreme Court, and the Hon Justice Gray, in the Federal Court.  Carolyn is a member of the Commercial Bar Association.
