Summary

Barristers Stephanie Joosten and Ashleigh Harrold will provide an overview of the recent amendments to the Bail Act 1977 (implemented pursuant to the Bail Act (Stage Two) Act 2018). In this seminar they will:

review how the courts are approaching "compelling reasons" and "exceptional circumstances";
provide an overview of recent higher court decisions; and
provide practical tips on how to prepare and run a comprehensive bail application.
