Summary

Selling Your Business – Do you Need to pay up to the Tax Man, or can you Access the Small Business Tax Concessions?

The questions that clients selling their businesses ask is – how much tax do I have to pay? And, is there any way to reduce it?
If the client can access the small business tax concessions, their tax can reduce significantly and, in some cases, be eliminated altogether.

In this seminar Barrister Matthew Meng and Solicitor Neil Brydges will:

1. Give an overview of the tax concessions that small business owners can access to reduce or eliminate the tax on the sale of their business;
2. Use examples to discuss the proposed (retrospective) ‘integrity measures’ to prevent taxpayers from accessing the concessions ‘inappropriately’; and
3. Give practical tips to practitioners to manage this extremely technical and complex area of law – an area that has direct financial consequences for clients.
