Philip Kennon has a broad commercial practice with a particular emphasis on commercial litigation, commercial arbitrations, expert determinations, trade practices and valuation disputes.

Philip Kennon is briefed in commercial cases in the Supreme Court and Federal Court and is experienced as a mediator and arbitrator in commercial disputes, including international commercial arbitrations. He is accredited under the National Accreditation Standards as a mediator by the Victorian Bar and Institute of Arbitrators & Mediators Australia (I.A.M.A.). He is a Grade 1 Arbitration Panel Member of I.A.M.A. and a Fellow of I.A.M.A. He is experienced in large commercial arbitrations, including the $3 billion Resource Rent Tax Dispute, 1991 - 1996.

Chairman - Barfund Pty Ltd - Trustee for the Victoria Superannuation Fund since 2000, Trustee, and later a director of Barfund Pty Ltd, since 1992.

Member - Victorian Bar Council, 1979-80

Member - Chief Justice's Law Reform Committee, 1979-1990

Member - Supreme Court Library Fund Investment Committee

Director - Legalsuper, the legal industry superannuation fund

In September 2012 Philip was inducted as a Living Legend of the Victorian Bar.
