  • Episode 4 : Daniel Ajak

At 13 years old Daniel Ajak left the Kenyan refugee camp he grew up in, with his sister and a suitcase, bound for Australia. He had never left the camp before let alone boarded a plane or been overseas. A few days later he landed in Australia and would not see his parents again for 12 years. Daniel’s upbringing, work ethic, tenacity, community and vision all guided him to a dynamic Life in the Law, where he became a lawyer at Victorian Legal Aid and an active member of the Australia African community.

"UPDATE: We are thrilled to announce that since we recorded this interview, Daniel has started his own legal practice Ajak, Wolan & Associates with partner Natasha Wolan, providing robust, sound and expert legal representation in contested matters, guilty pleas, and appeals against sentence and/or conviction."
