Lisa is an experienced advocate who practices primarily in the areas of criminal law and quasi-criminal law, including disciplinary tribunal proceedings, regulatory matters, public law and inquests.
Lisa appears in all areas of criminal law across all jurisdictions. She has experience in a broad range of indictable criminal matters including homicides, sexual offences, drug matters and violent offences. She appears unled in trials before the County Court, both for the prosecution and for the defence, and as junior counsel in trials before the Supreme Court.
Lisa has specialised knowledge and experience in applications for leave to compel production of, adduce or otherwise use confidential communications and protected health information under section 32C of the Evidence (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1958 (Vic). She appears both for accused persons seeking leave and for protected persons opposing it.
In her public law practice, Lisa appears and advises on human rights and discrimination cases. She holds a Master of Public and International Law from the University of Melbourne. Her study focused on human rights including the rights of accused in criminal proceedings, refugees, children and indigenous groups. She has undertaken legal internships at both the Louisiana Capital Assistance Centre in New Orleans and Hagar Cambodia.
Lisa holds an Indictable Crime Certificate and is on the Victoria Legal Aid Preferred Barristers List.
