Kate accepts briefs in criminal, regulatory and disciplinary matters, sexual harassment, discrimination and institutional liability.


Kate’s practice is trauma informed. She is committed to ensuring clients and witnesses understand the court process. Kate has particular experience working with children and applying the laws of evidence.


She works with government and other regulators and is familiar with adhering to prosecutorial duties and model litigant obligations. 


Before becoming a barrister, Kate practised for nine years as a solicitor at the Office of Public Prosecutions, the Centre for Innovative Justice at RMIT University and at Ashurst Australia in Canberra.


Kate read with Karen Argiropoulos SC and her Senior Mentor is Jenny Firkin QC. Kate was Tipstaff to the Hon. Justice Julie Ward, President of the Court of Appeal of the Supreme Court of NSW.


Melbourne’s Legal Precinct stands on the lands of the Wurundjeri and Boonwurrung of the Kulin Nation. Kate acknowledges the Traditional Owners of Country, and pays respect to First Peoples across Australia.
