Karen Argiropoulos SC

Profile

Karen practices in criminal, regulatory and public law. 

She appears in all criminal and regulatory proceedings including trials and appeals. Karen also acts in Royal Commissions, coronial inquests, inquiries and professional disciplinary matters. 

Karen has particular expertise in occupational health and safety and related corporate regulatory proceedings. She also has substantial experience in hearings involving the Serious Offenders Act 2018, Crimes (Mental Impairment and Unfitness to be Tried) Act 1997, coercive processes including witness examinations and public interest immunity claims. 

She is recognised in Doyles Guide as a Leading Workplace Health & Safety Senior Counsel - Victoria, 2025 and 2026 and a Leading Criminal Law Senior Counsel - Victoria, 2026.

Karen has a Master of Laws (LLM) specialising in corporate regulation, criminal law and human rights. 

She was appointed Senior Counsel in August 2024.

Karen holds an Indictable Crime Certificate and is on the Victoria Legal Aid Preferred Trial Counsel List. 

She is currently Vice Chair of the Criminal Bar Association.
