Meredith Schilling KC

Profile

Meredith practises primarily in tax and public law. She was appointed Senior Counsel in 2024 and has appeared in the High Court of Australia, the Federal Court, and the Supreme Courts of Victoria and other States.

She graduated first in her class from the University of Melbourne with a Juris Doctor degree in law (first class honours) and holds a Master of Laws, specialising in administrative law.

Meredith is a past chair of the Victorian Bar Pro Bono Committee and has served as a member of the Bar’s Ethics Committee and Equality and Diversity committee.  

She commenced her legal career at 40, after an earlier career as a professional classical singer and arts administrator. Outside the law, she is a director of Melbourne Symphony Orchestra and a long-term volunteer with Sacred Heart Mission.

Meredith is currently working towards an extended sabbatical and is not accepting new briefs.
