Profile

Csaba has a commercial and tax practice. He works across all manner of commercial disputes, including contractual and business disputes, corporations matters, Australian Consumer Law claims and commercial lease disputes. 


He has particular expertise in financial matters including superannuation/SMSF, trusts, financial advice, investments, lending/credit, insolvency and AFSL regulatory work. He also advises and acts in tax matters, particularly in relation to Superannuation/SMSF and trust disputes.


He regularly appears in the Federal Court, Supreme Court of Victoria, County Court of Victoria, the ART and VCAT. He appears in and advises on a range of civil matters including:

Prior to the Bar


Prior to coming to the Bar, Csaba worked for 20 years across the superannuation, investment, financial advice and insurance sectors including as in-house counsel, General Counsel and Company Secretary. He has worked at large corporates across those industries including ANZ Bank, AXA, AMP and Industry Fund Services.

Csaba was also the Chief Executive Officer of Industry Fund Services for several years, and served on various industry risk and legal committees including at the Australian Institute of Superannuation Trustees.


This experience equips Csaba with a unique, sharply honed commercial insight into the needs of his clients, the workings of the financial services industry and a commercially practical approach to his legal practice.


Csaba holds a Bachelor of Business (Finance), Bachelor of Laws and is completing a Master of Laws at the University of Melbourne.

Csaba read with Dion Fahey, and his senior mentor is Fiona Ryan SC.
