Timothy practices in all areas of public and commercial law, with a focus on taxation. He also accepts briefs in administrative law, corporations law, equity and trusts, general commercial law and insolvency.


Timothy's significant matters include appearing for the taxpayers in the High Court in Commissioner of Taxation v Bendel [2026] HCA 18 (led by Andrew de Wijn SC and Paul Jeffreys).


Before coming to the Bar, Timothy was a solicitor at Arnold Bloch Leibler, where he acted for taxpayers in all stages of taxation disputes including in the High Court, Federal Court, Supreme Court of Victoria, and the Administrative Review Tribunal.


Before that, Timothy worked at the Australian Taxation Office, across the Office of the Chief Tax Counsel and Public Groups business lines. He had a particular focus on novel, contentious and complex corporate and international tax issues.


Timothy holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Juris Doctor from the University of Melbourne.


Timothy read with Angela Lee, and his senior mentor is Julianne Jaques KC.
