James practises broadly in commercial, regulatory and public law.

James has experience working to resolve complex, high-value and high-profile disputes across commercial, building and construction, regulatory, administrative, class action, defamation and media matters, for commercial, government and individual clients.

James has been involved in trials and interlocutory hearings in most Victorian courts, as well as matters in the High Court, Federal Court and Supreme Courts of Queensland and South Australia. He has acted in complex arbitrations through the Australian Centre for International Commercial Arbitration (ACICA) and appeared in the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT).

Before joining the Bar, James specialised in commercial litigation and dispute resolution at Corrs Chambers Westgarth, and in construction and infrastructure disputes at MolinoCahill. He was also Senior Associate to the Honourable Justice Lyons of the Supreme Court of Victoria.

James holds degrees in law and biomedical science from Monash University.
