Jade practices in public and administrative law, common law and commercial law.
Jade’s public and administrative law practice covers judicial review and merits review proceedings for both applicants and respondents, as well as inquests and inquiries. She has appeared in judicial review proceedings in the Federal Court and the Federal Circuit and Family Court, and in merits review proceedings in the Administrative Review Tribunal.
Jade’s common law practice includes WorkCover, TAC, public liability and medical negligence, as well as intentional torts and institutional abuse. She has a particular interest in judicial review of medical panel decisions and appeals in the common law space. Jade acts for both plaintiffs and defendants.
Jade also accepts briefs to advise and appear in commercial law matters.
Jade comes to the bar with comprehensive experience as a litigator. Before joining the Bar, Jade was a senior lawyer in the administrative law team at the Australian Government Solicitor where she had carriage of a range of complex and sensitive public law matters. Previously, Jade practised as a senior lawyer in the litigation division of the Government Legal Department in the United Kingdom, and as a senior solicitor in the litigation and dispute resolution team of the Victorian Government Solicitor’s Office, where she handled a mix of civil claims, including the ‘Abalone’ class action. Jade started her career as a plaintiff personal injury lawyer.
Jade graduated from the University of Melbourne with a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and Bachelor of Commerce.
