Sinead Allen

Profile

Sinead is an experienced advocate who accepts briefs in all areas of criminal, public and administrative law.

Sinead has experience appearing in contests, pleas and bail applications and has instructed in trials involving serious indictable offences. She accepts briefs in all criminal and quasi-criminal matters, including intervention orders and proceedings under the Crimes (Mental Impairment and Unfitness to be Tried) Act 1997.

Sinead’s public administrative practice primarily covers migration, mental health and disability law. She also accepts briefs in disciplinary and regulatory proceedings.

Before coming to the Bar, Sinead worked as a Senior Lawyer at Victoria Legal Aid, where she practiced in the areas of summary crime, indictable crime, family violence and mental health law. She also worked as a Judge’s Associate at the County Court of Victoria and as a solicitor advocate at a private criminal defence firm in Canberra (now Hugo Law Group).
