Profile

Narod is a common law barrister with a practice spanning class actions, personal injury, insurance and workers’ compensation law. She advises and appears in a broad range of matters including common law damages claims, serious injury applications, workers’ compensation litigation, statutory benefits disputes, medical panel referrals and insurance-related litigation. She regularly appears in the Magistrates’, County and Supreme Courts of Victoria.

Narod has extensive experience in the assessment of damages in large-scale class actions and the design, implementation and administration of settlement distribution schemes. She is currently engaged in the Dr Lanzer Cosmetic Surgery Class Action and was previously engaged in the Monash IVF Class Action, where her work included damages assessment and quantification, claim review processes and settlement administration.

She has particular expertise in medical panel referrals and disputes involving complex medical and causation issues. She regularly advises on the strategic management of personal injury claims and on matters involving overlapping statutory, common law and insurance regimes. Narod is also a Preferred Counsel Panel member for WorkSafe Victoria and the Transport Accident Commission.

Narod regularly advises and represents clients in mediations, conciliations and Early Neutral Evaluations, as well as other forms of alternative dispute resolution. She adopts a practical and strategic approach to dispute resolution and has significant experience resolving matters involving the intersection of employment law and workers' compensation schemes.

Prior to coming to the Bar, Narod was a Senior Associate in the Insurance and Corporate Risk Group at Minter Ellison. She practised across both Commonwealth and Victorian jurisdictions in workers’ compensation and personal injury litigation, acting for employers, self-insurers and government agencies, including the Victorian WorkCover Authority.

Narod holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Arts (Criminal Justice and Criminology) from Monash University and a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice from the College of Law. She was admitted to practice in 2014 and signed the Bar Roll on 4 May 2023. She is a member of the Common Law Bar Association and the Women's Bar Association.
