Andrew Fraatz appointed judge of the County Court of Victoria

Attorney-General Jaclyn Symes today congratulated list member Andrew Fraatz on his appointment as judge of the County Court of Victoria.

 

Mr Fraatz brings 27 years of legal experience to his new role and was admitted to the Victorian Bar in 2003. As counsel, Mr Fraatz had a busy common law and commercial litigation practice, with an emphasis in major torts and personal injury claims.  He appeared regularly in class actions relating to property damage and personal injuries.

 

He served five years as a volunteer at Community Connections Pty Ltd Legal Centre and is a qualified mediator.

 

Mr Fraatz replaces Judge David Brookes, who retired on 18 January 2022 and was appointed as a reserve judge of the court on 1 February 2022.
