Greens List is pleased to announce the selection of list members Emma Fargher and Daniel Zajd to participate in the 2024 Victoria Legal Aid - Criminal Law Trial Counsel Development Program.
This program offers junior counsel valuable trial experience through mentorship with senior advocates in up to three legally-aided trials spanning 12–18 months.
Among the fifteen barristers chosen, there is notable representation of women and diverse counsel. Additionally, some participants from the 2023 program have been invited to continue collaborating with lead counsel on trials due to ongoing trial delays and resolutions.
The program is a joint initiative of Victoria Legal Aid (VLA) and the Victorian Bar, aiming to develop and support trial capability at the Bar and ensure legally aided accused have access to experienced counsel.
