ANDREW SIM APPOINTED TO THE MAGISTRATES COURT OF VICTORIA

Greens List is proud to announce Andrew Sim has been appointed to the Magistrates’ Court of Victoria. 

In his 9 years at the bar Andrew practiced in criminal, regulatory, administrative and public law.

Andrew appeared in jury trials, committal hearings, contested summary hearings, plea hearings and bail applications. Andrew's practice encompassed all areas of State and Commonwealth law, including Occupational Health and Safety, and and regulatory prosecutions brought by various Government departments, statutory authorities and councils. 

He appeared in the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse and  has appeared before other various disciplinary tribunals and bodies.

Prior to coming to the Bar, Andrew was a Senior Lawyer at Victoria Legal Aid, and a Senior Legal Officer in the Melbourne Office of the Commonwealth DPP.

Andrew is a trained and accredited Advocacy Instructor with the Australian Advocacy Institute and has coached and assessed readers in the Victorian Bar Readers Course since early 2020. 

Andrew's depth and diversity of experience will serve him well as a Magistrate.
