Greens List is pleased to confirm that the Governor in Council has appointed Jayr Teng as a legal member of the Mental Health Tribunal.
Jayr is a barrister practicing in all aspects of health and medical law. He has specific expertise in mental health law and is sensitive to the real and practical issues faced by persons experiencing mental illness. Prior to coming to the bar, Jayr had advised and acted in matters under the Mental Health Act 2014, Charter of Human Rights and Responsibilities Act 2006 and Crimes (Mental Impairment and Unfitness to be Tried) Act 1997. He was also involved in assisting the State with its response to the Royal Commission into Victoria’s Mental Health System.
